STILL MISSING SPEED

Nothing had ever been so bad
As that day, tragic and sad,
When in despair we saw you die
And could not help but cry

On Alexx's table your body was laid
Your flesh cut open by the scalpel's blade
And in the most profound depression
We attended your funeral procession

Seeing you again seemed like an impossible dream
For us and for all your team
You had been gone for a few long years
But time had not dried our tears
We still mourned for your demise
And could barely hide our surprise
When strange things started taking place
That gave us hope of having you back in our warm embrace

Like how could someone lying in the graveyard
Could have made a movement on his credit card?
We tried hard to solve the riddle
Could it really be our Speedle?

We saw you standing on the sand
You had come to lend a friend a helping hand
And after so many grieved sighs
We could hardly believe our eyes
True to the nature of our Speed
You had come to help a friend in need

He stared at you for a while
And you greeted him with a rare half-smile
But as you both talked on the beach
We felt you were somehow still out of our reach

After all, you were just a hallucination
Nothing more than a trick of the imagination
A mere illusion caused a fraudulent and disloyal act
By someone who should have shown respect

We should have known nobody comes back from the dead
You couldn't possibly have risen from your earthen bed
Now there's only one thing left for us to do
We will have to accept that it just wasn't true
And though our sorrow may be deep
Wish that you may rest in peace in your eternal sleep

This is one of the three I like best in this collection.
It's based on episode "Bang, Bang, Your Debt", in which Eric sees Speedle in the hallucinations caused by a head injury, and the fact that someone has been using Speed's credit card fuels some kind of irrational hope that he could be back.
I remember someone in the forum using the words "heart-wrenching" in her comment.
